Brandon Sanderson is a printmaker utilizing lithography, etching, woodcut, screen, and digital processes. His work explores the ways his hearing disability has shaped his life experience. Sanderson credits mentors who believed in his ability to succeed despite the disability when others did not: particularly Lloyd Menard, Professor Emeritus of Printmaking at the University of South Dakota, and Dennis Dalton, now retired from Colorado State University-Pueblo. Sanderson holds a BS in Computer Science and Art from Colorado State University-Pueblo, with an MFA and an additional 30-plus units of continuing education at the University of South Dakota. Born in North Central Kansas, Sanderson lives in Aberdeen, NC and serves as a Professor at University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Last year, Sanderson was featured in 15 international shows, including in Wales, Uganda, Spain, and Croatia. |
