Kathy Puzey is a printmaker who creates woodcuts. She embraces the surprises inherent in working with a once-live material and her three-dimensional sculptures comment on the natural materials they are made of. Puzey credits her artistic path to a woodcut workshop in Florence, Italy, where she worked with renowned artist Karen Kunz. Born in Logan, UT, she earned a BFA from Utah State University, and an MFA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She has served as the Printmaking Studio Manager at Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass Village, CO, and is currently an Associate Professor and Department head at Utah State University. Her work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally. |
