Christie Nuell is a printmaker who works in silkscreen, intaglio, lithography, relief, digital, watercolor, laser engraving, and digital animation, with current work using sumi ink. Previously focusing on interior and exterior architecture, her recent work reflects a collage/montage of imagery. Among her influences are Vuillard, Bonnard, Ernst, and Miro. Nuell trained as an undergraduate at SUNY Geneseo, and she holds an MFA from the University of Georgia. Born in Oxford, England, Nuell grew up in Rome, Italy, and currently splits time between the Isle of Man and Murfreesboro, TN. Nuell is a Professor Emerita of Middle Tennessee State University. Her award-winning work has been included in hundreds of exhibitions and resides in the collections of Greenville County Museum of Art, Music City Center Nashville, Duke University Hospital, and Mead Johnson & Co., among others. |
