David Menard is a printmaker who uses hand-drawn and appropriated imagery to weave dystopian narratives that exploit popular cultural memory. Menard received a BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute, and an MFA from the University of Wisconsin, and he has worked as a pressman for print shops across the Midwest. Menard was born in Boston, MA, and currently lives in Rockford, IL. He is an Associate Professor of Art at Rockford University, and a member of the Fatherless Print Posse in Rockford. Menard's work is held in public and private collections, including the New York Public Library, Hilliard Art Museum, Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, and Price Waterhouse Cooper Chicago. |
