Jeffery Dell is a printmaker who primarily works in screenprinting. His recent work engages themes of human desire and its effects on perception, impulse, appetite, and health. Dell is earnest about the playfulness in his work. He believes in the concept of back-loaded content, where meaning is revealed in the act of making. Dell holds a BA in Studio Art from Hamline University and an MFA in Printmaking from the University of New Mexico, with additional graduate training at Bucknell University. Dell has previously lived in Oregon, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, and Italy. He has taught for the past twenty years at Texas State University in San Marcos. Dell has given lectures and workshops at University of Minnesota, the University of Kansas, Kansas City Art Institute, SUNY New Paltz, and Honolulu Printmakers. He has exhibited extensively, both domestically and abroad. |
