Notes |
William Castellana is an award-winning photographer based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn where he has lived for twelve years. He became interested in photography while attending Purchase College where he had initially intended to study philosophy. However, after signing up for a black and white photography class, Castellana was greatly impacted by photographs made by Josef Sudek, Alfred Stieglitz, and Alvin Langdon Coburn; this caused him to change his major to photography, and to pursue a career in New York. His most recent accomplishments include exhibitions at Boise Art Museum, Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University, and Tucson Museum, along with several awards such as the Px3 Prix de la Photographie Paris, Creative Quarterly #32 and #35, and the B&W Spider Award. |
