Sergio González Angulo Aguirre is a printmaker working primarily via lithography and engraving. Aguirre obtained a MA in Design Theory in 1998 and a BFA at the Universidad de las Américas Puebla. He has additional training in graphic arts from the Nicolae Grigorescu Fine Arts Institute in Romania. Born in the city of Puebla, Mexico, Aguirre is currently a professor in the Department of Arts at the Universidad de las Américas Puebla. He was invited to teach engraving at the University of the Basque Country, Spain, and in recent years has participated in international seminars and courses, including those on Washi Zoquei, a Japanese technique combining handmade paper, lithography, engraving, and video. Aguirre has held thirty individual exhibitions in cities in the interior of Mexico, and eighty collective exhibitions, both in the country and abroad. |
